Specialties
Anxiety
My conceptualization of anxiety encompasses the social, physical, and psychological aspects associated with anxiety. I find that clients experience a high rate of success in effectively coping with their anxiety related issues by adopting some of my innovative yet relatable coping strategies. My overall perspective in assisting my clients with anxiety is to develop and understanding on what it means for them to have anxiety and how they believe the anxiety is affecting their life.
Depression
As with all of my clients, my first job is to allow them to express how they believe their issues are affecting their life and what has already been done to attempt to adjust to it. Depression is a topic that many people have had to deal with at some point in their life. My goal is to help facilitate my client in creating a better understand of their depression in order to assist them in developing effective coping skills to handle their daily lives.
Communication
Although we may communicate content with others on a regular basis, few of us understand how to effectively communicate meaning to one another. Even I have been guilty of “pseudo-communication” in my relationships. One of the most common issues in any relationship is a lack of communication or a lack of understanding in the style of communication that is taking place. Being that communication is such an integral part of every relationship we have as human beings, I believe that client’s should be taught how to effectively communicate with both friends and family.
Addiction
Studies show that most individuals are either directly affected by someone who suffers from addiction or knows someone who is. Addiction, for those of us who know, is a horribly intricate cycle that is difficult to break. By developing both a new understanding of oneself along with new coping skills my goal is to break this cycle. As with all of the issues discussed above, any and all success in overcoming their presenting problems is in my client’s hands.
